Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is an art and a science that uses pressure on reflex areas which are located on the ears, face, hands, and feet.

They correspond with glands, organs, and systems of the body.  Our feet are a mini map of what is going on within us.  These areas are stimulated by finger walking techniques, which creates increased energy and circulation to targeted areas.

Our feet are a reflection of who we are and what is going on in our life. It can tell of the sorrow of our soul. Issues that have been hidden deep within can be portrayed on our feet with deep lines.

The photo above is a pictograph from the tomb of Ankhmahor that is said to reveal the practice of reflexology. Dr. FitzGerald discovered the correlation of targeted areas of the feet, when pressure was applied, correlated with other areas of the body. He is known for using Zone Therapy.

Treat your feet today and invest in yourself.

My Story

I am a full time RN. Back in October 2018, when I finished my BSN, I was watching a holistic Youtube video. On the right hand side there were other videos for reflexology. I clicked on the Foot Whisperer, saying to myself, ya right. Four hours later I couldn’t believe what I was watching. I was enthralled by the feet, that “the feet don’t lie” according to Sam Belyea. The feet are able to tell a story about the person behind it all. In a sense we are like trees that have a root system (feet), which is not exposed, and reveals the health of what is above it.

I joined the foot whisperer Facebook group and I posted my feet. When I received feedback, I was relieved and I was in tears because of the truth that was revealed. It revealed that I was exhausted and had not taken care of myself like I should have. I then checked out a local reflexologist. During the first encounter, she placed her hands on my feet and I cried for 90 minutes because of what I had been holding onto. She mentioned how my soul was hurting when she placed her hands on my solar plexus. I recall a time in my life when my feet were hurting me, even though I had tried new shoes. I wondered why my feet were still hurting me. It had to do with my soul hurting because of what was going on in my life at that time. If anyone would have told me a few years ago that this is what I would be doing, I would have told them they are nuts! This journey has caused me to be aware that our body warns us and speaks to us. Whether we choose to listen and do something about it is up to us.

In the Bible there are multiple references on the feet. Here are just a few.

2 Samuel 19:24 states “Now Mephibosheth, the son of Saul came down to meet the king. And he had not cared for his feet, nor trimmed his mustache, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he returned in peace. “

John 12:3 states “Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.”

Ruth 3:4 speaks of Ruth uncovering Boaz’s feet and lying down next to them.

Matthew 15:30 states “The great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.”

Isaiah 52:7 states “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
